Tonight, I took the subway to Back Bay station and walked through the South End, all the way to Wareham St to check out Design Nearby 2008 at the PinkComma Gallery.

Design Nearby is an annual one-night exhibition and sale with a different design theme every year. This year’s theme was “Cloth, Paper, Scissors”, focused on printed, sliced and stitched works by Boston-area artists and designers.

I want to write individual posts for my favorites of the night, but here are just a few of the featured designers:

FilzFelt

Leah Giberson

JHill Design

Jenn Ski

In all, Design Nearby was a great success. A good time was had by all, and in the little over an hour that I was there, Kelly Smith (of FilzFelt and PinkComma) was busy writing out receipts and processing payments. Sounds like success, yes?
