First, the good news: Jane has arrived. This is a shot I took just after the delivery guys left:

The love seat is beautiful, with it’s clean lines, button tufting and stainless steel base. The Striasuede Putty is a lighter shade than I expected, but I’m actually quite happy with it. And it’s amazingly comfortable: Even my 10-year old approves!
And the bad news: The mantle isn’t done just yet. I underestimated the amount of paint on the mantle (there are two colors, painted at least three separate times, and who knows how many coats), and the effectiveness of the paint-stripper. I’ve been following the guidance of the experienced souls on the Brownstoner forums, using a non-toxic paint stripper with plastic tools.

It’s actually slightly further along than this photo, which was taken three nights ago. I’m hoping to be done with it in the next couple days.
Once that’s done, it’s time to buy the area rug, then use one of the colors in that for the area surrounding the mantle and the baseboards. I’m leaning towards the Patch Me If You Can area rug set by Flor.

Then chairs, storage, and on and on. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.
