What’s my favorite part of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off? Like most men, it’s when Ferris and Cameron take Cameron’s dad’s Ferrari out for the day. And, like most men, I nearly cried when said Ferrari jumped back, smashed through the windows of that imaculate garage, and crashed down into the ravine below.

ICFF 2009 was smaller than last year, surely due to the economy, but there was no shortage of imaginative, thoughtful designs.
Indeed, the amount of sustainable design at the show was greater than ever, and the pieces showed a great deal of both creativity and maturity. Below, here are 11 green designs, from floors to ceiling [...]

Boston’s South End Open Market opened for the season this past Saturday, and of course, I had to get in [...]

ICFF has come and gone but the show left both a lasting impression and a stack of press material to digest.  Never fear for due diligence shall prevail and a complete rundown of this year’s hits is on the way.
In the meantime, check out some of the designers we met there:

I wasn’t familiar with Arthur Erickson or his work until today, when my girlfriend told me he’d passed away.
Erickson is one of Canada’s most celebrated modern architects (my girlfriend’s from Canada, hence her familiarity). His works span the world, from his home in Vancouver, to Washington D.C, to Britain and Kuwait. The photo above is [...]
