.9Parties in 2 Days? That’s what ICFF is all about*

The DesignBoston crew are currently on a BoltBus from Boston to New York for ICFF. Over the course of this weekend – and much of next week – expect updates on the many great people and products we’ll encounter.

Besides all there is to inside the Javitz Center, we’ll try to get to as many industry parties as we can – all for your sakes, of course. So far, we have plans to (try to) attend the following parties:

Friday

Rucker Corp
Rooftop party – depending on when the bus rolls in.

Saturday

Bazzèo at NYLOFT
Club Bazzèo—The Effervescent Bubbly Lounge: Relax after a long day with friends and a glass of bubbly (too bad this will be just the beginning for us!)

Model Citizenz NYC 2009
Made up of independent designers as well as design related business partners, Model Citizens includes all of the individuals who, together, represent a sustained model of productivity within the design industries. We recognize that without risk there is no innovation, without trust there are no new relationships or opportunities, and without a commitment to new approaches to design practices we create nothing. Model Citizens takes a community-based approach to creating opportunities for the independent designers and their business partners to generate viable economic solutions.

Jake Dyson and Jason Bruges
Focal Shift Opening: Jake Dyson and interactive light artist Jason Bruges create a one-off installation using Dyson’s new Motorlight Wall. The exhibition is open 5/17–5/18. We’ll have a chance to interview Jake Dyson.

Blu Dot
They’ll be introducing a limited-edition Real Good Chair.

Cassina
They have a new showroom and a new product presentation.

Moroso
Moroso Outdoor for ICFF. A special installation by artist Kim Beck celebrates new designs from Patricia Urquiola, Tord Boontje, Ron Arad and others in their SoHo showroom.

Secret Natures at Droog
Hidden clutter, hidden meaning, hidden functions and hidden value all become illuminated at Droog New York’s first event and exhibition since its opening in February. Visit the Droog store and view pieces by established and up & coming designers FormaFantasma, Chris Kabel, Nacho Carbonell and Luc d’Hanis & Sofie Lachaert.

DWR: Tools for Living
They’ll be announcing the winner of the Illustrated Sound contest.

I’m not saying we’ll make every party, but we hope to make as many as possible. After all, ICFF happens only once a year, and we’re only here through Sunday, so we’ve got to make the most of it.

For your sakes, of course.
