This week was fairly productive for us. We started off setting up both our offices. Last weekend we were able to move Kevin’s office downstairs from the loft; this week we managed to set his office up AND create an office for me as well! There is still some work to be done in that area, but that will happen this upcoming week (week 5).
We also set up the dining room and got rid of our old dining table. The main goal this week, though, was to work on the living room, so I cleaned and decluttered our credenza, and we made a shopping trip to Ikea for some retail therapy.
It went ok.
It seemed that everything we needed was out of stock or discontinued. We finally found a rug we like that was a reasonable price but it was out of stock, none were coming in and they wouldn’t sell us the display! Oh, and they don’t sell it online either…
After doing some other research, we decided we really like the rug from West Elm (featured in my home style tray) — we may just have to suck it up and pay a little more for what we want and get it!
We did get a lamp at Ikea to hang over our couch, perfect for reading! We are also still thinking about the tripod lamp at west elm, we just don’t know exactly where it would go.
In the Nursery this week, we built the crib and came to a solution for the layout! I also washed and folded all the baby clothes, which took one whole day. Our baby closet is already full (mostly from generous friends passing along their hand me downs), and we haven’t had our shower yet!
We picked up to closet rods for the baby closet and installed one (for now). Also picked up some kiddie hangers at Ikea which are great for any clothes over 18 months but much too big for any of the newborn clothes. We got a grey sheepskin rug at ikea too, but it’s a bit too cool grey to match our warm grey rug in the loft. However, it looks great hanging over the railing behind the changing table!
